野上社旧蹟
「大江の地名は、平安前期以来、朝廷の文章道(史学
・文学)をつかさどる家柄として知られる貴族であっ
た大江氏(大江千里)が、この地を開発されたことか
ら地名となったと伝承されている。千里は「ちりんさ
ん」と呼ばれ、村人から敬われた三十六歌仙の一人と
して著名で、没後、住居の旧跡に小祠(野上社)を建
て遺徳をしのんだ。明治25年(1892)に御霊神
社に合祀されたことで、その旧跡として「野上社旧蹟」
と刻んだ石碑が建立されている。
The Ruins of Nogami-sha Shrine
It is said that the name of the place, Oe, came from the
Oe family (Chisato Oe), aristocrats in the beginning of the
Heian era who developed this area and conducted a study
of history and literature. Chisato Oe, beloved by villagers,
was affectionately called “Chirin-san”. He is also famous
as one of the noted 36 poets. After his death, Shoshi
was erected to the illustrious memory
(Nogami-sha Shrine)
of Chisato Oe. In 1892 (Meiji 25), he was enshrined into」
Goryo Jinja Shrine together with other deities. At the ruins,
there is a stone monument engraved with the letters
“Nogami-sha Kyuseki."
