Huge stone at Kyobashi-guchi Entrance

The huge stone of the castle wall to be seen in the front when you
enter the castle through Kyobasta-quchi, is named Higoishi Stone
and has a surface area of 54.17㎡, the second largest in the castle
The ono situated on the left side of the Higoishi Stone is named
Kyobashi-guchi nibanish Stone and ranks 7th largest with the
surface area of 36㎡ The stone was put in this place by Tadao Ikeda,
a feudal lord of Okayama who was charged with the construction
of the stone wall in this area during the Tokugawa Shogunate's
reconstruction works from 1620 to 1629.
